This book is a producer’s guide to managing weeds, insects and diseases in corn, soybeans, forages and small grains. This publication, edited by UW specialists in plant pathology, entomology and agronomy, provides the latest information on integrated pest management, state and federal laws as well as basic pest management.

Farmers will find descriptions of crop protection products, rates and methods of applications as well as modes of actions. Timing, rotational restrictions, re-entry and application/harvesting intervals are described. This book highlights non-chemical control of pests as well as the use of naturally resistant and genetically manipulated varieties of field crops.

With growing concern over glyphosate resistant weeds, the publication outlines recommendations for protecting this valuable technology while improving results. Farmers will find valuable charts and tables that will provide quick and affective references.

The agricultural experts outline crop rotational restrictions to avoid herbicide carryover damage in fields, due to last summer’s drought. Other updates to pest management are highlighted in the manual.
